Canal Run Returns

Hancock, MI – One of the largest events in the Copper Country returned after a year long hiatus due to the COVID-19 Pandemic on July 17, 2021. The Hancock Canal Run with well over 700 participants and even more volunteers to assist in bringing this great event back to the region. Superior Search & Rescue assisted the Canal Run committee again this year with radio communications and developing the safety plan. This year we had a radio operator at every race start, aid station, and finish line allowing for constant communication to be achieved for the entirety of the event.

Superior Search & Rescue also deployed our newly renovated Mobile Command Trailer at the event finish line on the Quincy Green. and we also deployed our UAV for overwatch at varying race starts and at the finish line showing the many uses that a UAV provides for events.
